Rotterdam P2: Coello-Tapia defend the crown and Ari Sánchez's 100th final ends in victory

Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero beat Josemaría-González 6-4 6-4 for their second consecutive title: Magic Ari won her 100th career final, the youngest player ever to reach that mark. In the men's draw, world No. 1s Tapia-Coello beat Stupa-Sanz 6-3 6-2 to defend their Rotterdam crown and claim a tenth title in 2026.

The CUPRA Rotterdam Premier Padel P2 ended on Sunday at the Rotterdam Ahoy with the same script as the Paris Major: the two pairs crowned at Roland Garros repeated in the Netherlands. Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero took the women's title with a 6-4 6-4 win over Paula Josemaría and Bea González (1h41), while Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia defended their men's crown by beating Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz 6-3 6-2 (1h09). Each pair earned 600 points for the FIP Ranking and the Race to the Finals in Barcelona.

Ari Sánchez turns her 100th final into the sweetest title

At 29, the Catalan is the youngest player in padel history to reach 100 professional finals — the day before she had beaten the No. 1 seeds, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, 6-2 6-3 in the semi-finals — and on Sunday she rounded off the milestone with victory: a second consecutive title over the No. 2 seeds after the Paris Major, and the pair's fourth trophy of the season.

"Winning two finals in a row was a goal: this title means so much. I had some difficult moments during the match, but Andrea was extraordinary: she is getting stronger and stronger," said Ari. Her partner, Andrea Ustero, added: "It was not easy to beat the top two seeds at the same tournament, but this should give us even more motivation to keep working."

Josemaría and González, chasing a seventh title of the year (against Triay-Brea's six), recovered both breaks immediately but never managed to get ahead. They remain level at the top of the women's Race with the No. 1s, barely 200 points ahead of Sánchez-Ustero.

Tapia-Coello: a tenth title of the year and a perfect record at the Ahoy

The world No. 1s defend their 2025 Rotterdam title and add their tenth trophy of the 2026 season, stretching their lead over Galán-Chingotto in the FIP Race ahead of three consecutive European tournaments. Stupa-Sanz's fast start hinted at a closer final, but the Golden Boys pulled away with fewer unforced errors (22 to 20) and many more winners (41 against 27).

The finalists' rackets are in the catalog:

"It's fantastic to play padel with this atmosphere. Congratulations to the crowd, and congratulations to Franco and Jon for reaching the final. We did well to find the solutions quickly, and that makes us really proud," said Coello. Tapia, with the upcoming marathon in mind: "We have three tournaments in a row, so it's essential to take it one match at a time."

Stupa-Sanz: a dream run, one step short

Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz, a pair for only a few weeks, completed a remarkable month: gold at the FIP Gold in Belgrade in their first week together, a final at the FIP Platinum in Lyon and now their first Premier Padel final as a pair, beating Galán-Chingotto in the quarters and their former partners Yanguas-Nieto (6-0 6-4) in the semis. The defeat didn't spoil the good news: they secured No. 4 pair status on the Tour for the two remaining events of the European swing.
