FIP Platinum Lyon 2026: 300 points that could earn a Finals spot — the rackets of the favourites

The main draw of the FIP Platinum Lyon 2026 gets underway today, Wednesday September 23, at the Palais des Sports de Gerland, with the padel world back in France. It is the fourth of the five FIP Platinum events of the season and puts 300 Race points toward the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona — the December showdown at the Palau Sant Jordi — on the line: after Lyon, only the Platinum in Aguascalientes (Mexico), the week before the Acapulco Major, remains to add points. An indoor event, €130,000 on offer and an open title race

Lyon brings together 28 pairs in the men's draw (22 direct entries, 4 qualifiers and 2 wildcards) on indoor courts split between the Palais des Sports de Gerland and the All In Country Academy, with €130,000 in prize money — €8,125 per player for the champions. The 2025 edition was won by Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri in the men's event and Alejandra Salazar and Martina Calvo in the women's, and no pair has repeated as champion across the editions played: this year will crown new winners again.

Stupaczuk-Sanz, top seeds with both rackets in the catalog

Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz arrive as the No. 1 men's pair. In the women's draw, Alejandra Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro are the No. 1 seeds. Salazar, 40, in her last season as a professional, defends the title she won in Lyon in 2025 alongside a 17-year-old Martina Calvo; she now shares the court with Osoro, her partner at the Madrid P1. Today's first round, with Spanish and French flavour
