The Andalucía Málaga Premier Padel P1 wrapped up its week with both world No.1 pairs lifting the title, although through completely different paths. More than 44,000 spectators passed through the Martín Carpena arena over the tournament.
The women's final: three hours of war
Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea needed over three hours to overcome Paula Josemaría and Bea González in a final with five service breaks in the first set alone. The final score, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(3), reflects the level of a final in which Josemaría and González served for the championship at 6-5 in the third.
The men's final: 53 minutes
In the men's draw, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia gave no chance to Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger: 6-2, 6-2 in just 53 minutes. Lebrón and Augsburger arrived full of confidence after eliminating Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galán in the semi-finals, but the No.1s controlled the match with accurate lobs that shut down their rivals' attacking game.
